As the industry attempts to figure out in what form factor wearables will first be useful, the Osterhout Design Group has come out with the R-7 Smartglass which comes with its own processor and a pair of 3D stereoscopic see-through HD displays. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (MSM8084), a 2.7Ghz quad-core processor which is developed specifically with high-compute powered devices in mind. There is in fact enough going on to justify this much processing power; the two 720p displays are each capable of 100 frames-per-second, and are independently powered along side a 720p camera.
Other specifications include 4GB of RAM and between 16GB – 128GB of storage, all powered by a 1,440mAh battery. The glasses run a customized Android OS which has an interface made specifically for Wearables. ODG calls it the ReticleOS and it is based off of Android 4.4.2. Kit Kat. There are plenty of sensors to keep the Internet of Things data cruncher happy; 3 accelerometers, 3 gyroscopic sensors, and 3 magnetometer sensors. a pressure sensor plus a humidity sensor to boot.
