NHL 2K for Android lands on the Play Store

2K games has been a busy bee over the past few months releasing several card-based games before dropping NBA2K15 last week on Amazon. Now they’re back with one more sport, and we’re headed to the ice this time around in NHL2K for Android.
NHL2K for Android puts you on the ice where you can lace up and play against your favorite NHLplayers and teams… in a limited capacity. For whatever reason, the NHL 2K app doesn’t appear to have an actual “Season” mode and the gameplay modes listed currently include My Career, Mini Rink, and Shootout. Career Mode is self-explanatory, and mini-rink is an arcade style 3-on-3 game.
Last but not least, is Shootout which lets you play against your friends in turn-based penalty shootouts. The NHL 2K app has controller support and live roster updates as well. It may sound like a sparse description of a hockey game from a top-tier developer, and that’s because it is. There’s really not much information on the game, and some of the early user reviews have been less than kind.

The Explay Tornado offers up three SIM slots and KitKat for $120

If you don’t do a lot of traveling, dual-SIM compatibility is probably useless to you. That being said, in many parts of the world it’s common and if you really want to kick things up a notch, we’ve got just the thing for you. It’s a new handset called the Explay Tornado, and it comes with support for three SIM cards.
As you’d expect, the Explay Tornado isn’t a “flagship” device. It’s claim to fame is its triple SIM compatibility, which is certainly something that could attract folks to a new device. That, and the fact that it runs KitKat and is only $120 bucks unlocked…
The Explay Tornado specs show a mid-ranger with quad-core 1.3GHz chip, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. The display clocks in at 4.5-inches with a resolution of 854 x 480, and it comes with an 8MP rear camera. Besides Tri-SIM support, the Tornado offers up Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, and a micro USB port. It’s powered by a 1,500mAh battery, and runs Android KitKat 4.4.
If you’re looking to pick up the Explay Tornado anywhere outside of Russia, you’re out of luck unless you import one online through an e-tailer. The device is already up for grabs in the country in red, blue, green, black and white for $120.

The Oppo N3 is scheduled for a launch in Singapore come 29th of October

oppo teaser camera blowout 640x640The Oppo N3 is scheduled for a launch in Singapore come 29th of October, but in the meantime to help keep customers interested, Oppo has teased a steady stream of photos and information regarding the device. More recently, Oppo has posted a new teaser photo on their Facebook page which you can see in the image above.
Basically it shows the blown-out view of the camera module that is expected to make its way into the handset. While it’s a bit hard to tell, it does not seem like the Oppo N3 could feature a rotating camera like in the Oppo N1, but perhaps the official reveal will confirm that. However for now, it does give us a good look at the complexity of the camera module which Oppo will be using.
Oppo’s CEO has recently confirmed some of the specs of the Oppo N3 and revealed that the phone would come with a 16MP 1/2.3-inch sensor, although earlier rumors did suggest a 13MP camera instead. That being said, the rest of the phone’s specs remains somewhat a mystery for now, at least until the official reveal.

Samsung Chromebook 2Samsung has announced the launch of a new variant of Chromebook 2. Powered by Intel Celeron N2840 processor, the new Chromebook 2 variant will join the earlier launched Exynos 5 Octa-powered versions of the device.
According to Samsung, the new Chromebook 2 goes on pre-order today in US, followed by availability next week. It will retail for $249.99.
In terms of the specifications, this Chrome OS laptop packs 2GB of RAM, 11.6-inch 1366x768p display, 16GB SSD, and Wi-Fi support. More specifications later in the report.

HTC Desire 516Along with One (M8 Eye), Desire Eye, Desire 820 and Desire 820Q smartphones, HTC on Friday launched the Desire 516c smartphone as well as Re camera in the Indian market.
The new Desire 516c smartphone is a variant of the company’s previously released Desire 516. It comes with Android with Sense UI, dual-SIM (CDMA + GSM) support, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM and 5-inch qHD display. The phone also packs 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter and 1950 mAh battery.

After introducing the Desire 820 and 820q for the Indian market last mont

HTC Desire 820After introducing the Desire 820 and 820q for the Indian market last month, HTC has now revealed the official pricing of the phones. According to the company, Desire 820 will retail for INR 24,990 in the country, while the Desire 820q will be available for INR 22,990. The phones will go on sale beginning November 5.
To remind you, the Desire 820 smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor. The phone also packs 13MP rear camera, 8MP front shooter, dual-SIM support, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and Android 4.4.
On the other hand, the Desire 820Q is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, however the rest of the specifications of the phone are same as Desire 820.  Both phones support 4G LTE/ 3G connectivity on both SIM card slots.

HTC on Friday unveiled the new One (M8 Eye) and Desire Eye smartphones in the Indian market at a press event in Mumbai. According to the company, the One (M8 Eye) will go on sale tomorrow for INR 38,990, while Desire Eye will released in late-November exclusively at Amazon India. The pricing of Desire Eye is a mystery at this moment.
Originally introduced last week in China, the HTC One (M8 Eye) is pretty much the same smartphone as One (M8) but includes a 13MP Duo rear camera instead of the 4MP Ultrapixel Duo camera on One (M8).  Other specifications of the phone include 5-inch full HD display, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 with Sense 6.0. The phone also comes with 5MP front shooter,  2600 mAh battery, 4G LTE support, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and dual front-facing stereo speaker with BoomSound enhancements.

Google has finally revealed that price of the Nexus 9 tablet

Google Nexus 9 IndiaGoogle has finally revealed that price of the Nexus 9 tablet in the Indian market. As per a “coming soon” listing on Google Play, the Nexus 9 tablet has been priced at INR 28,900 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only version, while the 32GB Wi-Fi + LTE version will be sold for INR 44,900 in the country. There is no word on the price-tag of 32GB Wi-Fi only version in the country right now.
Originally introduced on October 15, Google’s new Nexus 9 tablet sports a brushed metal body and has been made in partnership with Taiwan’s HTC. The tablet features 8.9-inch QXGA (2048x1536p) IPS display, dual-core 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, 2GB of RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop. The tablet also comes with 16/ 32GB of internal storage, dual front-facing speakers with BoomSound, and 6700 mAh battery.
On the imaging front, the Nexus 9 packs an 8MP f2.4 rear camera with LED flash and 1.6MP f2.4 front shooter.

White Meizu MX 4 Pro Spotted in China

We’ve heard rumors that Meizu is working on another version of its flagship device dubbed as the Meizu MX 4 Pro, which will come with an upgraded set of specifications.
Recently, an image of the alleged Meizu MX 4 Pro was leaked on Weibo, the Chinese Twitter alternative, with a white paint job. The alleged device shows a large rectangular home button.
The image on Weibo was also accompanied by caption claiming it to be the upcoming Meizu MX 4 Pro, but there’s no confirmation if we’re looking at the real deal or not. So a grain of salt is recommended, let’s just wait for an official confirmation from the company itself.

Motorola has revealed that India is the part of the 28 countries

Google Nexus 6Motorola has revealed that India is the part of the 28 countries set to get the new Google Nexus 6 smartphone later this year. The company has not shared any specifics at this point but we expect the phone to reach India around December, soon after the debut in the Americas.
Originally introduced late-Wednesday, the Google Nexus 6 smartphone will be released in midnight Blue and Cloud White colour options and get 32GB and 64GB storage variants. Google has priced the phone at $649 for the 32GB variant and $699 for the 64GB version in the United States, India pricing should be around the same price-tag, most likely around INR 41,000.

As we had earlier reported, Chinese manufacturer Lenovo on Thursday announced the launch of its new Yoga Tablet 2-series, which includes tablets like Yoga Tablet 2 8-inch, Yoga Tablet 2 10-inch and Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, in the Indian market.
Originally unveiled just a week ago in the UK, the Yoga Tablet 2-series is powered by Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4.2. The tablets also come with 8MP rear camera, 1.6MP front camera, 2GB of RAM, microSD card slot, 3G connectivity and voice-calling support. In addition, the tablets pack front-facing dual-speakers and the 13.3-inch Yoga Tablet 2 Pro includes a 50-inch pico-projector and JBL sub-woofer.

Google officially revealed a lot of details about the new Android 5.0 operating system

Android 5.0 Lollipop Messaging appGoogle officially revealed a lot of details about the new Android 5.0 operating system on Wednesday but it missed to elaborate on two key features – new messaging app & factory-reset protection (kill switch).
According to a report in Android Police, Google has re-introduced a standalone messaging app in Android 5.0, which was earlier replaced with Hangouts in Android 4.4 (in at least Nexus devices). Not many details are available about the app at this point but it looks your normal SMS/ MMS application with a brand new Material Design user-interface.
In a statement, Google told Android Police that the new messaging app will not be replacing Hangouts and will just complement it.
“Messenger and Hangouts offer users choice, each have their own benefits. Hangouts work great for cross platform (web, iOS, Android) and cross medium communications (video, voice,messaging, SMS). Messenger will be specially designed to be a quick and easy way to send and receive SMS and MMS messages on Android; more to come (Nexus 6 will come with both apps),” Google noted in the statement.

A new Lumia device has been spotted in the wild and at the FCC. The Nokia RM-1090/RM-1091 is a dual-SIM Windows Phone device the size of theLumia 830.
According to the FCC reports in measures 139.9 x 71.1mm. AdDuplex spotted the unofficial device in its logs and reports that the screen has qHD resolution (540 x 960). That would be a first for the Lumia line as current devices have (F)WVGA, 720p/WXGA or 1080p.
AdDuplex reports most hits came from China and Taiwan, though that's not necessarily the target market, it could be just where the testing takes place. The Lumia handset has GSM and 3G with HSPA connectivity (no LTE, at least on the dual-SIM), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE, all of which comes together for a mid-range device.

Samsung introduces Gear S smartwatch in India for INR 28,900

Samsung Gear SIn addition to the Galaxy Note 4 smartphone, Samsung on Tuesday also introduced the Gear S smartwatch in the Indian market. Priced at INR 28,900, it is the first Gear-branded smartwatch from Samsung to come with built-in 3G support.
According to Samsung, Gear S will go on sale beginning October 17 at major retail stores as well as e-commerce websites.
Sporting a curved Super AMOLED display, the Gear S comes with 1GHz dual-core processor, Tizen OS, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and 300 mAh battery. The smartwatch also packs Wi-Fi support, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, water/ dust resistance, and heart-rate sensor.
Unlike other Gear smartwatches, Gear S can be used as a standalone device and won’t require pairing with any smartphone or tablet. In addition to the fitness-related functions, the Gear S users will be able to make or receive calls, check notifications, emails, and even see maps or get turn-by-turn directions.

Huawei announced that it sold 10,000 units of the Honor 6 smartphone

Huawei announced that it sold 10,000 units of the Honor 6 smartphone in India within 48 hours of its sale commencement on Flipkart, which the company says translates to about three to four phones being sold a minute, and over 200 phones an hour. The Huawei Honor 6 was made available on the Big Billion Day sale on Flipkart which occurred on October 6.
The Chinese manufacturer says that the Honor 6 has made a new record for Huawei by generating sales faster than any of its predecessors in India.
Expressing happiness on a remarkable beginning, Allen Wang, President, Consumer Business Group, Huawei India, said, "We were pretty excited to launch our flagship device Honor6 in India. We were confident of the product as it offers best features and tech specs vis-a-vis other devices in the Rs. 30-40K price bracket. It is a moment of extreme delight for Huawei and a great start of our partnership with Flipkart. We are hopeful to do even better in the times to come."
The company had launched the smartphone in September at Rs. 19,999 along with the Huawei MediaPad Honor T1, which was priced at Rs. 9,999. Like the Honor 6 smartphone, the MediaPad Honor T1 tablet is also exclusively available via Flipkart. The tablet had gone on sale on Flipkart from October 10.
The Honor 6 available in India offers single-SIM support. It features a 5-inch JDI full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) in-cell display, translating to a pixel density of 445ppi. An octa-core Hi Silicon Kirin 920 processor powers the device with Mali T628 GPU. The Honor 6 utilises the Big.LITTLE architecture with 4xA15 1.7GHz + 4xA7 1.3GHz and 3GB of RAM.
It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, BSI sensor, and f2.0 aperture while there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Honor 6 comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded via microSD card. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE and 3G connectivity options. The smartphone is backed by a 3100mAh battery.

DROID Turbo briefly appears on Verizon's Twitter account


The image was posted on Verizon's @DroidLanding Twitter account for a while before being pulled down, so it's fairly legit. From the back you can see the supposed 21 megapixel camera with the dual LED flash. The phone is also supposed to have a massive 3,900mAh but it's hard to tell that from the image. In comparison, the phone looked fairly chunky in one of the previous leaks we saw.
No word yet on when this phone will be announced.
